Review: Let's Explore...City

Wow, this book is gorgeous. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened it, but I was absolutely delighted with what I found.

The Let's Explore series from Lonely Planet Kids takes children on beautifully illustrated adventures around the globe, guided by characters Marco and Amelia.

I'm a city gal at heart, and my husband is more of a country dude. It is important to us that our children are exposed to all different sorts of experiences, places and cultures.

This book allows me to articulate particular elements of city life that I want to experience with my son. It does so in a way which reels him in and gets him involved, thanks to the super fun activities that feature on each page.

Not to mention, each page features a unique ambience that reflects the city being explored by Marco and Amelia (and you!).

Ultimately, I enjoyed this book because it is the sort that opens up my son's mind to the possibilities that lay beyond the backyard. In fact, I think I enjoyed reading this one as much as my 3-year-old. By the way, he hugged it when he got it, if that's any indication.

I'm totally looking forward to reading through Let's Explore...Mountains next. My hubs is a mountain fanatic, and I'm getting sucked into his enthusiasm!

Oh! I almost forgot! This book includes 250 stickers in the same gorgeous style as the illustrations.

Even if you're not a frequent flier, but you want to give your kids a taste of what's out there (and enjoy yourself in the process), this is a fun way to do it. Highly recommend!
