Weekending: First One for the Month
And just like that, the weekend is over!
We had a fun-filled weekend that, for the first time in a while, actually felt like a weekend. Here's what we were up to:
FRIDAY:
+ The weather here turned chilly overnight, so Walker and I curled up on my bed to watch "Toy Story" while Knox took his morning nap, then met some friends at The Ark to play.
+ Worked on our latest Koala Crate projects, which Walker loved.
+ The boys and I ran to pick up our Walmart Grocery Order {click here for $10 off your first one!}, then played outside for just a bit with Walker's new bubble gun.
+ I made this for dinner, we finished up Season 1 of "Z: The Beginning of Everything" and went to bed pretty early.
SATURDAY:
+ We had a little photoshoot with the boys in their matching Janie & Jack "brother bear" shirts! I bought these the day we found out Knox was a boy, and it was so sweet to put them in their little matching outfits.
+ We took the boys out to Bass Po Shops, one of their favorite activities {and ours because it's free!}. Walker loves to check out the boats, 4-wheelers, Mules, etc., and Saturday he found a little kid-sized fishing pole and wandered the store with it and pretended to go fishing. It was the cutest thing ever!
And this sweet baby was so thrilled to just be there. ;)
After Bass Pro Shop, we took Walker over to Dairy Queen for a special treat for having five+ stickers on his weekly behavior chart.
+ We had a super lazy afternoon, which consisted of Walker begging us to make him a "pow-wit" in front of the fire to watch, what else, "Toy Story"...again.
+ And then it was time to get ready for date night! Brandon brought me a glass of rosé as I was getting ready. #goodhusband
+ The babysitter arrived and we were on our way! Car selfie for the win. ;)
+ We were offered tickets to the Championship Event at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, so we gladly accepted them! Since we were over in Fort Worth, we grabbed dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Taverna! Brandon had a dirty martini and I had their blood orange margarita, which was absolutely delicious.
For dinner, I had the Paglia E Fieno, which is green and white taglioini with chicken, wild mushrooms and truffle cream. It is so, so yummy.
Brandon had the California pizza, which had chicken, mozzarella, avocado, feta, tomatoes and cilantro. I snuck a bite and it was also delicious!
+ We headed over to the Will Rogers Coliseum after dinner for the rodeo! While it was nothing near the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo {which, in my humble opinion, is amazing and can't be beat!}, it was still fun to experience. Seriously, it totally made my Texas pride swell; there's just nothing like this state sometimes!
SUNDAY:
+ We didn't go to church since Knox had just gotten over a tummy bug and we didn't want to risk exposing him to anything with a low immune system. So, we had a lazy day that consisted of laundry, cleaning, picking up, naps and getting ready for the week ahead.
+ Brandon grilled hamburgers for dinner and we watched the Super Bowl, even though we had zero dog in the fight. {We were bummed the Cowboys didn't make it!}
