Weekending: Easter Edition
We had a fabulous long weekend celebrating Easter! It was such a fun weekend filled with lots of family time, coupled with some good much-needed rest and sweet giggles from the boys. Here's a bit of what we were up to:\\ FRIDAY:
+ The boys and I had a lazy morning at home, as Brandon had a half-day at work. I couldn't get over precious Knox in his Easter smocking and Walker donning my sunglasses around the house.
+ Walker "helped" me make these adorable bird's nest cookies, which were just as delicious as they were easy. These will definitely be made year after year in our household!
+ We met Brandon at The Cheesecake Factory for lunch {thanks to my best friend Lindsey for the gift cards there for my birthday!} and stuffed ourselves to the gills.
+ While the boys napped, I went to get my hair cut and run a few errands. The weather was just gorgeous in the afternoon, so we packed the boys up and let them play at the park. I just couldn't get over sweet Knox in his precious smocking and sun hat!
+ For supper, we had leftovers, and then we watched "Hidden Figures" with a glass of wine once the boys were in bed and both agreed it was a perfect Friday night!
\\ SATURDAY
+ We celebrated Easter a day early with Brandon's family. We had a light lunch, an egg hunt for the littles and some family time. Walker was all about egg hunting this year and stuffed his mouth with every jelly bean and M&M imaginable...while Knox cared more about a white wiffle ball than the eggs, bless his sweet heart.

+ I had an 80-minute massage in the afternoon, which was completely heavenly. I was able to relax after a long week and had to will myself not to fall asleep.
+ We had a very lazy evening of leftovers, and for supper, Brandon grilled chicken and I made this Crock Pot creamed corn and Italian pasta salad. It was so yummy and fattening! ;)
+ The Easter Bunny hopped by Saturday night in full preparation for Sunday's festivities! {You can see what was included in the boys' Easter baskets here.}
\\ SUNDAY:
+ I was up early to get a few things done before church, and then we did the boys' Easter baskets! Walker was completely thrilled, even yelling, "Mommy! This basket is bew-tuh-full!" {Seriously, he's the perfect age for holidays right now and I just love it.} Knox, on the other hand, couldn't have cared less about his basket...until he had his bottle. Brandon and I joked that Knox was all, "...but first, coffee." ;) But once we had that morning ba-ba, he was all about the Puffs in his basket.
+ We got ready for church and snapped a few pictures before we left. Walker's super into the cheesy, scrunched-nose smile these days, and I not-so-secretly love it. I've pretty much given up on "perfect" family photos for a long while!
Knox's John John is from Zulilly a year ago, but here's a link to his shoes and sweet knee socks! Walker's shirt and pants |

Brandon's shirt was a random H&M find...and I loved the pink on him! |
+ Church was wonderful and Brandon and I both just adore our church's annual Easter service. Our pastor preached a great message and I was humming "Up from the Grave He Arose!" all day.
+ We came home, changed Knox into his Easter shirt and ate leftovers; let the boys play for a bit; then all took 2+ hour naps. It. was. fabulous.
+ Another night of leftovers {yay for not having to cook!}, some DVR'd TV shows and an early bedtime were just what we needed to kick off this week.
I hope and pray you had a wonderful Easter weekend celebrating with those you love!
