Weekending

The weekends just aren't the same after being on beach time last weekend! I'm definitely missing the beautiful beach and the slow, easy days, but, as we've been trying to explain to Walker since we left, "All vacations must come to and end and yes, we hate it, too." Poor bud is none too thrilled with being home. ;)

But, aside from our post-vacation blues, we had such a low-key weekend that I hardly took any photos at all aside from two photos of food {ha!}, and it was actually quite nice and relaxed.

We spent the majority of the weekend doing all the post-vacation errands and tasks: unpacking, grocery store, car wash, a hair cut for me, and of course, I tackled a mountain of laundry and swept up more sand off my laundry room floor than I care to admit. ;) It was so nice to be home and eat a couple of home-cooked meals...and these delicious peanut butter brownies

We used the weekend to get the boys back on their schedules after a week of ridiculously late betimes, and thankfully it paid off; they were so tired on Friday that Knox took a 2.5-hour morning nap and a 3-hour afternoon nap, and Walker took an almost 3-hour afternoon nap. And thankfully they're back to their usual bedtime and wake time!

We did lots of relaxing on the couch and caught up on some more episodes of "Bloodline," of which we're officially addicted. And we also started a much-needed cleanse for ourselves with lots of green smoothies to detox from a full week of tons of food and a lot of adult bevies. My favorite recipe is to put the following into my single-serve blender: crushed ice, a scoop of this protein powder, a tablespoon of creamy peanut butter, 3/4-cup vanilla almond milk, and a big handful of spinach/kale mix. It's so tasty and even Walker loves them {and requests them}!

We rounded out the weekend with a trip to the pool with some great friends and their kiddos, a glass of rosé and some more episodes of "Bloodline."

We're ready for a {somewhat} normal, {somewhat} back-on-schedule week. Happy Monday!
