Weekending

Happy Monday, y'all! It was a chilly weekend here (well, "chilly" to us Texans), and we so enjoyed wearing our long sleeves, turning on the fire for the first time in months, and being cuddled up and cozy at home together. 

Here's what we were up to on this lazy little weekend: 

\\ FRIDAY: 

+ It was a low-key day of errands and just hanging out for the boys and me, and then my aunt {my mom's sister} joined us for supper. I made a super easy roast in the Crock Pot; one of my favorite meals on a chilly day. It never looks pretty, but it sure is good! 

The recipe is super simple: just place one beef chuck roast in a lined slow cooker. Pour 1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix; 1 can of cream of mushroom soup; 1 cup of beef broth; 1 bag of baby carrots; and some halved red potatoes over the roast. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. It's a family favorite! 

\\ SATURDAY: 

+ We had a lazy morning just hanging around the house: an easy peasy breakfast of canned cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs...and a mimosa because why not?! 

+ We watched "Spookley the Square Pumpkin," then moved on to College Gameday and football, and then we we carved our jack-o-lantern! 

+ I made this "chili" for lunch {perfect on a cold day} and then I got a massage during the boys' nap time. 

+ My aunt (my dad's sister), uncle and cousin were in town, so we went to eat dinner with them and my step-cousin, her husband and their kids who live here in Dallas near us. If you follow me on InstaStories, you saw that Knox was having a grand ol' time making faces at my aunt across the table. ;) 

\\ SUNDAY: 

+ Hand, Foot and Mouth is again going around in our church nursery, so we kept the boys at home and instead had a lazy morning of reading books, watching "Curious George," cleaning and hanging out together on a chilly day.
