What's Up Wednesday: October 2017
Happy Wednesday! I can't believe it's already time to link up with Mel, Sheaffer and Shay for "What's Up Wednesday!"As always, I'll be answering these questions:
{1} What We're Eating This Week
Our menu this week is and has been: my aunt's Hot Hammies and Hashbrown Casserole; my aunt's Poppyseed Chicken Casserole, rice and green beans; Beefy Corn and Black Bean Chili and cornbread; pizza; black bean, chicken and spinach quesadillas with Mexican rice; and a day for leftovers and also an eat out night due to a fall festival.
{2} What I'm Reminiscing About
With Halloween next week, I'm reminiscing about Halloweens past and can't believe this is Walker's fourth and Knox's second!
2014: Lion
2015: Mickey Mouse
2016: Bob the Builder and recycled lion ;)
{3} What I'm Loving
Like last month, I'm still loving thredUp! It's definitely not my favorite for selling clothes just because I don't feel like I get the value for my money, but I do get the value for my money when I buy! I recently got these two cute items and can't wait to wear the black cocktail dress to Brandon's company Christmas dinner if it looks okay. I figured for $6.99 it was worth a try. ;)
I am also loving this air freshener I grabbed on Amazon. A local play place had this soap scent in the bathroom and I loved it so much, I got the air freshener for our bathrooms when ours ran out. #ilivewiththreeboys
But speaking of Mrs. Meyers, I'm so #basic and am also loving this soap! I found mine at Target, but I have heard it's sold out at some Targets -- but it's on Amazon!
I also picked up this mascara at Christina's recommendation and I really like it! I'm still using my Ciaté London mascara, but I figured for $9.99, I could have an extra on hand just in case. And it's totally worth it!
And finally, I recently shared some of my favorite fall looks {read that post here}. I seriously am having a really hard time not scooping up every single one of these items!
{4} What We've Been Up To
We have had a lot of fun this month, in addition to Walker's school and our BSF: enjoying watching Dallas Cowboys football; running lots of fall-themed errands; play dates with friends; I worked a garage sale with my mother-in-law while Brandon had a day-o-fun with the boys; sweet ice cream dates with my biggest little guy; our annual trip to the State Fair of Texas; finally getting to don Halloween jammies; a trip to the pumpkin patch; and of course, Brandon and my 7th anniversary trip to Scottsdale!

{5} What I'm Dreading
Like last month, I'm still dreading Daylight Saving Time ending. It's no fun when you have kiddos!
{6} What I'm Working On
I'm currently working on some Christmas gift guides! So tell me, what types of guides are you specifically looking for: babies, kids, women, men, stocking stuffers...all of the above?
{7} What I'm Excited About
I can't wait for Halloween on Tuesday! I think Walker is totally going to eat it up this year {we're planning to go trick-or-treating with our friends whose kids are Walker and Knox's best friends} and I'm also excited about Thanksgiving next month. Just for grins, here were my boys last Thanksgiving:
{8} What I'm Watching/Reading
I'm still loving all of the fall TV: "This is Us," "Law & Order: SVU," "Modern Family," the Law & Order special about the Menendez brothers; "Designated Survivor," "Blue Bloods," RHONJ; RHOC; and RHOD; and I'm really looking forward to "Stranger Things" being back on Netflix! (And of course our old people shows of "Dateline" and "20/20.")
I'm also still reading my book about Diana, Princess of Wales. It takes me so much longer to finish a book these days! #MomLife
{9} What I'm Listening To
Oh yes, I have gone there: we are officially listening to Christmas music around here! Ha! Don't judge me. Walker loves it just as much as I do, and we have been jamming out to this Christmas album -- my very favorite!
And, a small tidbit: I walked down the aisle on our wedding day to song #5 on this album: "Highland Cathedral."
{10} What I'm Wearing
Oh, just my typical mom uniform of yoga pants, a T-shirt and Nikes on most days. But, one of my recent favorite purchases were these high-rise compression crops from Old Navy. The high-rise is important because, um, I've had two kids and things just aren't where they used to be...and I love the fabric, too. They're currently on sale for $10, too!
{11} What I'm Doing This Weekend
We honestly don't have any big plans, and I'm really excited about that! I'm getting a massage on Saturday afternoon and am meeting my friend Victoria for a glass of wine on Saturday night.
{12} What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month
I love Thanksgiving so much: you get to see and spend time with family without any added pressure of gifts and, for us, there's only one big event so there's no packing up and driving to multiple events like at Christmas. I'm so excited to see my family, spend time with them and really kick off the holiday season.
{13} What Else is New
Not much else new to report around here. Happy Wednesday!
