What's Up Wednesday: November 2017
Happy day before Thanksgiving! I know everyone is in a mad dash to make the side dishes they're bringing to their Thanksgiving meal; or cleaning their home to get ready to host; or packing bags to travel over the river and through the woods to grandma's...so I promise I'll keep this short and sweet today. :)
I'm linking up with Mel, Sheaffer and Shay for "What's Up Wednesday" to answer the following questions:
{1} What We're Eating This Week
I went to the grocery store on Friday, so so far this week we have had: pizza chicken served with green beans; ate out with friends; cranberry chicken served with wild rice and green beans; Crock Pot Shepherd's Pie; and blackened salmon served with roasted butternut squash. I'll share the Crock Pot Shepherd's Pie recipe next week; it's my grandmother's recipe and it's so easy and delicious!
{2} What I'm Reminiscing About
With it being Thanksgiving week, I'm reminiscing about last Thanksgiving and can't believe I had a six-month-old and a 2.5-year-old. Time is truly a thief!
{3} What I'm Loving
I'm absolutely loving having our Christmas décor up; it's just so cheery, happy and magical.

{4} What We've Been Up To
November has seemed to fly by in a flash, and I can't believe December is next Friday! This month, in addition to BSF and Walker's school: I went to Canton with my mother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, my sister-in-law's mother, my sister-in-law's sister and my mother-in-law's best friend; we had a little modeling session with Knox in his precious jammies; celebrated my in-laws' 40th wedding anniversary; I took the boys to the Dallas Zoo; we had Walker's Thanksgiving feast at school; met some friends at "Cookies with Mrs. Claus" at the Gaylord Texan; donned Christmas jammies, drank hot chocolate and watched "Elf" as a family; went to ICE! at the Gaylord Texan; took our Christmas card portraits; had dinner with friends; and decorated for Christmas!
{5} What I'm Dreading
I think all of the car travel coming up for the holidays over the next two months. I absolutely love going home for the holidays, but I hate actually getting there. My boys have never been ones to sleep in the car and they get pretty fussy near the end of the car trips, so I'm definitely not looking forward to the car rides.
{6} What I'm Working On
I'm working on finishing my Christmas gift list {just two people left to go!} and finishing my wrapping. I'm so excited to have most of the shopping done.
{7} What I'm Excited About
Obviously I'm so excited about Thanksgiving and getting to see family! I love Thanksgiving so much because you get to be together without the added pressure of gifts; everyone is just glad to get to spend some time together and eat delicious food.
We also are starting "Elf on the Shelf" this year and I'm excited to see how the boys to react to that. {And don't worry, I'm keeping that Elf's movements quite simple!}
{8} What I'm Watching/Reading
I'm loving all of our fall TV shows...especially "This is Us" and all the tears it gets out of me each week. I mean, honestly, I bawl every single week.
I'm still reading "Raising Men, Not Boys" and have really enjoyed the eye-opening read.
{9} What I'm Listening To
Christmas music, of course! ;) Special thanks to Sirius XM for having two channels blasting Christmas music: Holly and Holiday. I'll be having Christmas music on repeat until Dec. 26.
{10} What I'm Wearing
You can see #3 above for my three favorite tops that I've been donning lately! I've also been wearing these yoga leggings constantly now that it's finally cooler here to move away from the crops and onto the full-length. ;)
{11} What I'm Doing This Weekend
Celebrating Thanksgiving with family {!!!} and hopefully scoring some great Black Friday deals. I've got my eye out on a big gift for Walker from Santa and am hoping it goes on major sale on Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday. #hereshoping
{12} What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month
All things Christmas! Just for grins, here are my sweet babies last Christmas:
