Review: Lonely Planet Kids: Sticker World Museum, Zoo and Theme Park

Lonely Planet have released a great new sticker and activity book series to engage kids in fun and educational journeys about a range of key topics.

Kids use their imaginations and the enclosed stickers to complete activities such as dot to dots, drawing, colouring in, and other challenges without even realising the wealth of information they are taking in as they complete the activities.

In Sticker World Museum, kids start by naming their museum then work their way through drawing cave paintings, completing dinosaur skeletons and colouring the headdresses of ancient pharaohs. They use the stickers enclosed to label extinct animals, create a mosaic on an ancient urn and design some dazzling jewellery.

They can also create a bug display, design a crown and draw paintings to hang on the gallery walls. The interesting and informative activities in this book will keep the kids occupied for hours.

In Sticker World Zoo kids design their zoo poster, create their map, then move on to identifying fish, learning how to draw pandas, figuring out what various animals eat and designing an underground tunnel town for prairie dogs.

They can also design a play areas for gorillas, clean algae from the seal pool, colour in leaping lemurs and spot tropical birds. There is useful information about big cats, reptiles and other animals, combined with engaging activities to involve kids in their learning.

Sticker World Theme Park completes the series with a fun approach to creating rides, colouring in, decorating a pirate ship and designing a water world.

Each book has over 500 stickers for kids to enjoy and engage with, combined with factual information and activities to challenge kids and give them a sense of fun.  The books are well laid out and visually appealing and are sure to be popular with kids around five to eight.
