Review: Who's Hiding?
On each double-page spread one of the animals is hiding, or crying, angry, sleeping, backwards, and so on.
The idea of Who's Hiding? is for children to look at the pictures of the animals and identify which one answers the question asked by the text.
The question of who is hiding is repeated several times, with different animals hiding each time.
The hiding is accomplished by the use of colour, with the background colour for the page hiding all but the facial features (eyes, nose and mouth) of the animal in question.
So the pages alternate between a white background and a coloured background which matches one of the animals (green, red, brown, yellow, orange, blue). At the end there is also a black page with just the eyes of all the animals visible. The question this time is who is who?
Can you work it out? On the last page there's an answer key to all the questions asked throughout the book.
Who's Hiding? is kind of a literary version of the memory card game. It might keep you guessing, or checking previous pages. It will certainly test your brain and keep you entertained.
