Mother's Day Weekending

It was a wonderful weekend celebrating Mother's Day, and I was so thankful to be able to be with Brandon, Walker and Knox this weekend. The weather was gorgeous and we spent a ton of time outside, which was great before it gets too hot and humid.

\\ FRIDAY:

+ The boys and I met a college friend of mine and her two little ones at a local indoor play place. It was wonderful to catch up with her and our kids had a ball playing together for almost two hours!

+ We left the play place to meet up with some other friends for lunch at Chick-fil-A. Needless to say, the boys slept really well Friday afternoon!

+ That night, Brandon surprised me with dinner at this fun restaurant featured on "Diners, Drive-In's and Dives," Chef Point. The story behind the restaurant is so cool, but basically, it's a fine dining restaurant located in a converted gas station. The meal was delicious! I had the salmon croquettes over fettuccine, Brandon had crab-stuffed chicken and the boys had a little hamburger and we all split their famous bread pudding which was to die for. (And I loved that they didn't put raisins in it!)

Walker declared it "the best night ever" and, other than locking ourselves out of our house when we got back (and having to call a locksmith to come saw off our doorknob), it was, in fact, "the best night ever." ;)

\\ SATURDAY:

+ I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure, which was heavenly.

+ We had sandwiches for lunch, the boys took naps while Brandon and I got things done around the house (like washing our windows!) and then he took Walker swimming. Sweet Knox gets his cast off on Friday and will be thrilled to finally take a dip in the pool, too.

+ Then, I had a massage scheduled and was excited to pamper myself for the day!

+ We ate leftovers for dinner and Brandon and I watched "The Post" once the boys were in bed. It was meh to me {I actually fell asleep on the couch, but what's new?!}, but Brandon enjoyed it.

\\ SUNDAY:

+ I woke up to a precious al fresco dining experience on our back porch area! Brandon made homemade eggs Benedict and fruit and had this sweet setup with my note and gifts from the guys (an organic spray tan appointment before the beach and a body polish at the spa during our beach stay!).

How's that for some bedhead?!

+ We got a few pictures on the patio before we tried out a new church. We loved it, which made it an even happier day! We're planning to go back a few more times before we make a decision, but all agreed that it was a top contender.

+ After a quick lunch and the boys took naps, I laid out by the pool and started to read {for the second time} "Bringing Up Boys." It's such a wonderful book and I really recommend it for all boy moms!

+ Walker woke up early from nap and joined Brandon and me in the pool for a bit, and when Knox woke up, we all moved inside to cool off and enjoy some downtime together.

+ Brandon and I made sour cream chicken enchiladas, baked Mexican corn and refried black beans for supper; took a family walk; played LEGOs with the boys; and they watched a bit of the Stanley Cup Finals while I folded laundry. (Because laundry never takes a day off...!)

+ I ended the night with a long soak in the tub (all the praise hands for a completed bathroom!), wrote this post and read a bit more of my book. It was a great ending to a wonderful, special day and weekend!
