Mystery Box: Inside our mystery box, we found a pink pig!Puppet Song #1:
Piggie, piggie, what do you see?
I see a horsey looking at me!
Horsey, horsey what do you see?
I see a chicken looking at me!
Chicken, chicken what do you see?
I see a cow looking at me!
Cow, cow what do you see?
I see a sheep looking at me!
Sheep, sheep what do you see?
I see a red barn looking at me!
Red barn, red barn what do you see?
I see lots of FARM ANIMALS, that’s what I see!
Just placed these finger puppets on my hand one by one as i said the rhyme. You could add colors to the animals or sing this as a song if you like.
Books We Read:
Maisy on the Farm- Cousins
Farm- Litton (so cute but kinda long, 1st session only)
Flannel Board: Hide & Seek on the Farm
Maisy’s at the farm, playing hide & seek!
Is she in the barn? let’s take a peek!
Check all around the farm till you find Maisy!
Puppet Song #2: Old MacDonald Had a Farm
Used hand puppets & my big red barn. See my post HERE
Craft #1: Red Barns with animals
I printed simple clip art barns on red copy paper & trimmed it down & folded it so they opened in the back like barn doors.
I also printed these farm animals (free printable HERE) for kids to color, cut & glue into their barns.
i made big red barns a while back using full size sheets of construction paper with fancy barn doors but i wasn't able to do that this time due to prep time & crowd size. this was a great substitute.
Craft #2: Maisy at the Farm popsicle stick puppets
I printed these on cardstock so the kids could color Maisy & her tractor.
Today we had 2 lively groups, not too big but a good size. Liked my felt board & the Maisy book, as well as the barn craft. Next time, would probably skip the Maisy puppets bc it was a lot but the barns were a last minute idea that I really loved.
