Back-to-School Lunchbox Ideas
I can't believe it's already time to start talking about back-to-school anything, much less lunchbox ideas! We only have one more year before Kindergarten (cue all the tears!), and since the boys are both in preschool together this year, I am really enjoying packing their lunches and only having to do it two days a week! ;)The biggest thing that helps me is packing them the night before {I use these containers and also these silicone muffin liners} so we can just stick an ice pack {these are my favorites} in their lunch box and go on school mornings. Anything to make it less hectic, right?!
So here are some of our basic lunch ideas. I don't get too crazy and I most certainly am not the mom making animal shapes with toothpicks and jackfruit over here! ;) I pack what I know my boys will eat so the lunchbox will come home empty.
Here are some ideas:
Walker:
+ Turkey Wrap (mozzarella or cheddar string cheese wrapped with one slice of turkey)
+ Baby carrots + hummus cup (found at Sam's Club)
+ Pirate's Booty
+ Blueberries
Knox:
+ Turkey Wrap (mozzarella or cheddar string cheese wrapped with one slice of turkey)
+ Hardboiled egg, halved
+ Pirate's Booty
+ Raspberries
This was my "easier" day; they each got the same thing, except Knox likes "yellow cheese sticks" while Walker will only eat "white cheese sticks."
+ Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich (I use one piece of bread per boy, half it and then half it again)
+ String cheese
+ Strawberries
+ Honey Teddy Grahams
+ Mini muffin
Also another day where they got the same thing except for a different type of string cheese. ;)
+ Turkey wrap (mozzarella or cheddar string cheese wrapped with one slice of turkey)
+ Hardboiled egg, halved
+ Sweet potato chips
+ Fruit salad (strawberries + blueberries)
+ Mini muffin
Walker:
+ DIY "Lunchable": Ritz crackers, sliced deli turkey, sliced cheddar cheese
+ Baby carrots + hummus
+ Fruit salad (blueberries + raspberries)
+ Applesauce pouch (not pictured)
Knox:
+ DIY "Lunchable": Ritz crackers, sliced deli turkey, sliced cheddar cheese
+ Baby carrots
+ Fruit salad (blueberries + raspberries)
+ Mini muffin
Walker:
+ Heart-shaped PBJ sandwich (just make a PBJ sandwich like normal and use a heart-shaped metal cookie cutter to cut out)
+ Baby carrots + hummus
+ Grapes
+ Half of a Kodiak Cakes blueberry + lemon protein muffin
Knox:
+ Heart-shaped PBJ sandwich (see above)
+ Baby carrots
+ Grapes, cut in half
+ Cheddar cheese stick
+ Half of a Kodiak Cakes blueberry + lemon protein muffin
Pretty easy stuff! Nothing life-changing or revolutionary, but I always like peeking into other people's lunchboxes myself, so I thought I'd share here.
And speaking of my favorite back-to-school things (not sponsored, just my true favorites):
+ These preschool-sized backpacks and these matching lunchboxes
+ These water bottles
+ These silicone muffin liners
+ These Bento-style containers
+ These ice packs
