Weekending

Happy Monday! We finally had a weekend without rain (hallelujah!) so we got out and enjoyed the sunshine. (Our weather man said that we haven't had a weekend without a drop of rain since Sept. 1-2! Insane!)

\\ FRIDAY:

+ Brandon took Walker to a doctor appointment for me in the morning and I deep cleaned the entire house. Then we had a lazy day at home. Friday was our last day of rain and we were struggling finding things to do after a month plus of gross weather, so it was a Chick-fil-A picnic upstairs At the end of the day, we made tea cakes using Brandon's grandmother's recipe and cut them out with fall cookie cutters.

+ I put a roast in the Crock Pot and we enjoyed that for supper and caught up on "This is Us" once the boys were in bed.

\\ SATURDAY:

+ Our driveway and back patio had gotten so moldy and dirty with the rain (and I'm pretty sure it had never been cleaned a day in its life), so we power washed the driveway Saturday morning! It was oddly satisfying to me, so I volunteered to do the majority of it. It was weirdly therapeutic! Ha!

+ I asked Brandon to hang one thing in our dining room and that turned into me re-arranging practically our entire house while the boys napped Saturday afternoon. I really like what I did and am now on the hunt for a few key pieces to tie our study and entryway together.

+ I made our family's famous meatloaf recipe for supper and once the boys were bathed and in Halloween jammies, we watched popped popcorn and watched the Michael Jackson Halloween special on CBS before calling it a night.

\\ SUNDAY:

+ It was an absolutely gorgeous day, so we ventured out to the Dallas Arboretum to play in the Children's Adventure Garden and look at their amazing annual pumpkin display, and have lunch at one of our favorite Dallas Tex-Mex restaurants, Desperado's. We were at the Arboretum with absolutely everyone in DFW, but it was still a fun time -- and we ran into two friends from the boys' preschool!

I put the boys in their cute shirts from Elizabeth James Designs and they looked so cute among the pumpkins!

It was muddy and cool out, so my Caslon knit jacket and Zella leggings were the best option for the day!

+ After the Arboretum and lunch, we came home for naps and the Cowboys game, lots of playtime outside to enjoy the beautiful fall weather, and leftovers for supper.

It was a nice weekend and we are looking forward to a fun week this week!
