I’m oddly fascinated with PEZ dispensers.
2. What is your nickname?
I can’t believe I’m going to even put this down here, cause I hate it. My boyfriend calls me 'Ang' cause he knows I hate it. There it is.
3. What is your greatest fear?
That there will never be enough time to accomplish everything I want to do. And losing the people I love so deeply.
4. Describe your writing style in 10 words.
Deliberate. Fast. Messy. Emotional. Honest. Stream of consciousness. Simple. Funny.
5. Tell us five positive words that describe you as a writer.
Curious. Truthful. Observant. Sensitive. Flexible.
6. What book character would you be, and why?
Curious George because he’s brave. Even when he messes up, he goes back in and tries again. And he’s got a big heart.
7. If you could time travel, what year would you go to and why?
That’s a real tough one, but one of the eras that has always fascinated me was the Golden Age of Hollywood. The '30s and '40s. It’s one of the main reasons I live in Los Angeles. That era really changed the way we are entertained and see the world. Plus, LA architecture from that time is one of my favorite styles.
8. What would your 10-year-old self say to you now?
How did you get on the other side of this pain?
9. Who is your greatest influence?
People that don’t follow the rules when it comes to living their lives. The ones who pave new roads when everyone is telling them that it can’t be done, or that they aren’t the ones to do it.
10. What/who made you start writing?
Jennifer Niven. We’ve been friends for years and I’ve admired her talent, drive and hard work. She told me I could write and hearing that gave me the courage to think maybe I could.
11. What is your favourite word and why?
Shenanigans. I overuse it but it can pertain to so much.
12. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
