Babies & Brew monthly parent workshops continued to be very popular, well attended & FUN!

October Babies & Brew

we had two sensory tables this month:

first, we made these AWESOME Itsy Bitsy Spider crafts from makinglearningfun.com! i printed the houses & pre-cut them so kids could just color. then we taped on a straw & added a spider ring. so easy and everyone LOVED them!

i had some fun spider games for the kids as well:

i purchased some plastic jumping spiders from OTC (super cheap for a huge bag.) i printed spider webs & glued them to paper plates, then numbered them 1, 2 & 3. kids & parents counted to place the correct number of spiders on each web.

finally, we practiced our fine motor skills by using our fingers OR wooden clothes pins to rescue spiders from this web that i made from a white plastic basket from the dollar store & some white yarn that i wove in & out of the holes.

November Babies & Brew

for our craft station this month, we made paper plate fall leaf wreaths! i cut out the centers of these plain paper plates. the kids used glue sticks to attach orange tissue paper and colorful plastic leaves i purchased from amazon. so festive for autumn and easy to make! 

i also had a fall leaf matching game for them to work on color recognition:

we had our usual refreshment table as well as bubble blowing, music, a ball pit, a crawl thru tunnel,  and lots of toys. it's like throwing a party for 20-30 families every month! it is a lot of prep and even more to clean up afterwards but the kids and caregivers love this program and that's what makes it all worthwhile.

since december is such a CRAZY month, Babies & Brew will pick up again in january 2019 so see you next year!
