Weekending
Happy Monday, friends! We made a quick trip down to southeast Texas to my hometown on Saturday for my hometown's annual Hometown Christmas. It was a super quick trip (literally less than 24 hours), but it was so sweet and such fun. I'm really looking forward to going back to celebrate Christmas with my family so soon!\\ FRIDAY:
+ The boys got much-needed hair cuts and then we joined my in-law's at a little train exhibit, followed by lunch + play time at the boys' favorite, Chick-fil-A.
\\ SATURDAY:
+ We got up at 5 a.m. and left at 7 a.m. after a stop for donuts and kolaches. It was a four-hour drive (and I totally napped in the car!) We arrived, dropped our stuff off at my grandparents' house and then went to Hometown Christmas!
Brandon ran in the Jingle Bell Run -- and won Best Costume, natch. (And yes, he ran the entire 2 miles with this on, ha!)
We visited my mom's booth, got lunch at one of the many food vendors, and walked around to see the booths.
+ We took the boys home for a nap and visited with my grandparents, and the boys got to hang their annual ornament on my Nana's kids tree.
+ We took the boys back downtown to see the miniature train exhibit, which they loved!
+ We rounded out the night with dinner with Lindsey and her family at a local Cajun restaurant, which was so much fun. Crazy with five kids, but oh-so-much fun.
\\ SUNDAY:
+ After a good night's sleep, we got up and headed home early Sunday morning since this is a crazy busy week.
I hate being four hours away from my family and best friend, but it was such a fun little getaway and I'm so glad for the sweet, special memories made and wouldn't change it for the world!
