Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! I hope everyone has had a great week.

-ONE-
We are celebrating Walker's FIFTH birthday this weekend! It's a bit early, but since family will be in town this weekend, we figured it was a good time to go ahead and celebrate! I can't believe my baby will be five soon. I'll be honest, five is hurting a bit. I know everyone says it, but it has honestly gone by in the blink of an eye. He will start Kindergarten in August and it's just so hard to believe.

And because I apparently like to torture myself, here's a little now-and-then for you:

I'm trying hard to be on the ball this year and plan gifts and holidays out in advance (if I can). And for some reason, Valentine's Day always sneaks up on me! I saw Beth's recent post and she inspired my teacher gifts this year: white tea towels and my favorite soap! I put them in a cute bag and will make a little heart-shaped tag and tie it to the bag with red and white baker's twine. Voilá!

-THREE-
Speaking of Valentine's Day, I've had a hard time this year finding cute Valentine's Day jammies for the boys. And yes, I readily admit that I'm crazy and will put them in themed shirts/jammies until they tell me they no longer want me to. Ha!

Anyway, I found these at Old Navy over the weekend and thought they were so cute!

-FOUR-
And since this is apparently turning into a Valentine's Day post, I wanted to share the cute books I got for the boys for their little Valentine's Day "happy." Brandon and I always get them a cute little something on holidays like Valentine's Day, Halloween, etc. just as a way to create memories for them. I found two cute little plates in Target's Dollar Aisle and will give them that and the following books:

You Are My Heart (for Knox) and The Valentine Bears (for Walker).

-FIVE-
One of my sorority sisters from college, Victoria, is a BeautyCounter rep and sent me lots of goodies to try out. She sent me the Recovery Sleeping Cream, the Pure Calm Cleansing Milk, the Adaptive Moisture Lotion, the Intense Moisture Serum and the Cleansing Balm

I was a little hesitant to try it, just since I have my tried-and-true products and love what I currently use. (And y'all know I never share things here I don't actually try.) But, I really have loved the cleansing milk, cleansing balm and serum especially. But with all of the products, I was shocked at how soft my skin was after two days. I couldn't believe it!

You apply the Cleansing Milk to a dry face, and I'll be honest that it took me a few tries to really adjust to that feeling. But I was completely shocked at how it completely removed my makeup! The Cleansing Balm is like a Vaseline mask for your face and body. I actually applied it to Walker's chapped lips, Knox's dry cheeks and shins and my elbows, too! It really made them so soft. And the serum did a wonderful job of really keeping moisture in with this cold, dry winter weather we've had this week.

I will say, I did feel like the Adaptive Moisture Lotion and Recovery Sleeping Cream weren't really stand-outs to me and I felt like, other than the "clean" standard for Beauty Counter, they were very similar to what I currently use for my day time and nighttime moisturizer. I also did feel like the prices were pretty steep and I'm not sure if I would (or could) pay as much for it, but I did like the softness it offered my skin and did like knowing I was putting completely clean products on my face.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
