What's Hap-pinning Wednesday: A Few Befores-and-Afters

Hey friends! Happy Wednesday!

I thought I'd share a few before-and-after photos of our new foyer update: a new chandelier! It has really transformed the space and I love the way it turned out. Y'all might remember that we purchased a home that needed some updating (it was kind of stuck in the 90's in a lot of places and they just had SO MUCH STUFF everywhere with lots of dark, bulky furniture) and we are really loving making it our own. We have miles to go in this house, but we're just trying to keep on budget and do one update at a time.

So here are the pictures, and I've linked the sources below. If something isn't there, let me know! :)

Here's the original chandelier that came with the house when we bought it:

And here was the update from the same angle:

Here was our foyer before (these "before" photos were those used for the house listing):

And here's a current photo (taken yesterday):

And another before, from a different angle:

And after, from the same angle (taken yesterday):

And the last photo, from the top of the stairs (before):

And after (taken yesterday):

We actually kept the existing paint color, which was really helpful! The big things we did in this space were, obviously, changing the light fixture; but also replacing the carpet on the stairs and into upstairs (I would love to have wood there but it's just not feasible with two little boys); and staining the banister and back of the front door. Smaller projects including changing the front door hardware and doing lots of cleaning and updating.

Here are the sources:

  • Paint color: Benjamin Moore Regal Select Chelsea Gray (eggshell finish)
  • Stain color: Minwax Gel Stain "Coffee"
  • Carpet: Local company; can't remember the name/style
  • Chandelier: Wayfair
  • Rug: Rugs USA
  • Window panes: Round Top, Texas Antiques Fair (similar here)
  • Ladder: Vintage, gift from my MIL's best friend (similar here)
  • Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig: HomeGoods (similar here)
  • Pew Bench: Kirkland's
  • Pillow: Pottery Barn
  • "Let's Stay Home" Sign: Etsy (similar here
