Review: Where's Tim's Ted? It's Time For Bed!

Many children find it hard to sleep without their favourite teddy bear, especially when they are sleeping away from home.

Where's Tim's Ted? It's Time for Bed! by Ian Whybow and Russell Ayto turns this problem into a giggly bedtime adventure.

It is time for Tim to go to bed and Ted, the pink teddy bear, has gone missing. Tim's grandparents reassure him that Ted can be found in the morning.  However, in the middle of the night Tim feels the need to just check on Ted and the midnight adventure begins.


Tim checks in the kitchen, no Ted. He pulls on his red boots and creeps into the moonlit farm yard looking for Ted. Ben, the dog, and the farm animals join in the search but sssshhh be quiet we don't want to wake up Granny and Grandad.

The animated, tip-toeing and speech bubble whispering adventurers, creeping around the farm yard, makes this a funny adventure. The lightness given, to a distressing topic of a missing bedtime sleeping companion, turns this book into a reassuring story. You will be pleased to know that the ending of this story is a happy ever after ending.
