Weekending: Last One for March

It's April, and it's officially birthday week for me. I know I'm probably too old (32) to be celebrating "birthday week," but it's something fun to look forward to. Here's a bit of what we were up to this weekend:

\\ THURSDAY:

+ Our weekend kind of started on Thursday with the Texas Rangers' Opening Day game vs. the Chicago Cubs. It was a sad loss, but a fun time just us together -- and the last Opening Day in this stadium before they build the new one.

\\ FRIDAY:

+ A lazy day: a trip to the park with the boys + a Chick-fil-A picnic in our game room watching "Cars 3." Brandon and I put the boys to bed early and went to bed early, ourselves!

\\ SATURDAY:

+ We started our day with waffles, eggs and bacon and had a lazy morning at home. A random cold front blew through and it was just freezing for us Texans in late March!

+ We took the boys to see "How to Train Your Dragon 3." Walker loved it, but Knox couldn't have cared less after his giant bowl of popcorn was finished. So he and I went out to the lobby and ran around, took photos at the photo booth and he got his first Shirley Temple. ;)

+ Saturday night, Brandon and I went to dinner at Great Scott and had a delicious charcuterie board, salad, Texas red fish (me), flank steak (him) and toffee pudding. We will be back!

In true parent fashion, we ended our date night at Academy picking up baseball supplies for the boys. #parentlife

\\ SUNDAY:

+ We went to church + Sunday School, then had lunch at Shake Shack before coming home for naps, some outside work and lots of laundry and chores -- and then fun T-ball playtime outside before dinner. We ended our night with "Moana" on TV and later-than-normal bedtimes.

Overall, a low-key, fun, family-filled weekend that we needed just the four of us. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
