Mystery Box: Inside our mystery box, we found a white rabbit in a tall black hat hand puppet!
i named my rabbit Snowflake because he is as white as snow!
We did this rhyme:
Here is a bunny
With ears so funny
And here is his magical hat.
When a noise he hears,
he pricks up his ears
And jumps in his magical hat!

Prop Story: Big White Snowman
i found this story on one of my favorite blogs, So Tomorrow. I wanted to try it so badly! i brought it to all of my preschool visits this month & everyone LOVED it!
Let's make a snowman like the one in our story!
we don't have any snow but i have my white board today.
Big white snowman has 2 shiny black eyes!
1 orange carrot nose!
1 silly smile of dark black coal!
2 rosy cheeks!
a soft green scarf!
and a tall black hat!

but what will happen when the sun comes out?
yes, he will melt! then we have to say...
goodbye tall black hat, (remove each item from board)
goodbye soft green scarf,
goodbye rosy pink cheeks,

goodbye shiny eyes,
goodbye big white snowman!
i hope you come back the next time it snows!
Flannel Story: Five Magic Rabbits
Five magic rabbits in tall black hats.
Along comes a magician who gives each one a pat.
Then waves the magic wand high above their ears.
(ask kids to wave their wands too!)
Abracadabra, poof! One rabbit disappears.
(Count down to one)

This flannel board was just too long today!!! Should have done just three rabbits instead. i even made an awesome shiny magic wand prop from a yellow straw at the last minute but nothing keeps their attention lately.
Craft: Magic Rabbits
I found a clipart rabbit and a hat template. We colored the bunnies, taped them to popsicle sticks & made them pop in and out of the magic black hats, which we decorated with shiny snowflake stickers.
