We’ll give you one enormous eye and cover you in slime!’
Siblings, grandparents and Mum all get involved in the fun, each with amazing suggestions to consider. But ultimately our MC has to go her own way, choosing something that works for her.
Delivered in stunning rhyme by Sarah Speedie, the story flows from page to page as the costume ideas build. Kruti Desai’s gorgeous illustrations invite us in with loads of colour, a beautifully diverse family and details galore to explore. I love that each suggestion made by family members is played out on the pages, so we get to see all the marvellous costumes.
And at the end, even though there is one final choice on the perfect costume, there is a special surprise that sees all the costumes getting their time to shine.
