Review: Luna's World Bk#1- Library Dreams

Luna’s World: Bk#1- Library Dreams, is the beginning of an engaging series, featuring the impressive leading character, Luna, who loves books and reading. 

The library is her favourite place.

On Luna’s first day in Grade 5, she barely makes it to school on time having slept in.  She’s not the only one. Cody, her best friend also slept in!

Through her diary entries, Luna shares her daily activities, friendships, challenges, and opposing thoughts on lots of issues, of which she has many.

This is something strongly supported by her mum as respite for Luna's overactive mind.

Jade, a classmate, who is extremely popular with the teachers, is competing with Luna for the position of Little Librarian Monitor. Luna really wants to win having missed out the previous year.

Because they are equally efficient and capable, three challenges are set to establish who will be the Librarian Monitor. 

Two out of three wins.

Hayley Gannon has presented an immersive view of book lovers and all their characteristics, creating an immediate empathy with the characters, especially Luna, who is the pivotal person in this gorgeous story.

This is a book with lots of diverging sub-stories featuring valuable information about books, their genres, sentence structure, and all forms of writing; all woven through the interaction between the main characters, that clearly nurture the love of books with their passionate reading habits.

Beautifully written with excellent dialogue which reveals the thoughts and aspirations of the young cast, it encourages the use of library facilities and focuses on the countless benefits of doing so.

I loved this book as it is believable, and readers of any age will associate with the content.  Look out for Luna’s World: Bk#2 - Friendship Fail, which will be available in late July.
