1. Tell us something hardly anyone knows about you. I was born in Alice Springs!
2. What is your nickname? Nic or Nicoletta.
3. What is your greatest fear? I am not good with cold climates, so being bitterly freezing cold and not being able to get warm.
4. Describe your writing style in ten words. A tentative beginner, with dreams to write a picture book.
5. Tell us five positive words that describe you as a reviewer and writer. Joyful, fun, heartfelt, thoughtful, passionate.
6. What book character would you be, and why? I always admired Pippi Longstocking! Full of confidence, fearlessly independent, well-travelled, spirited and loves herself just the way she is.
7. If you could time travel, what year would you go to and why? Oh for the fashion – early 1900s – take me to Paris please and find me a parasol.
8. What would your ten-year-old self say to you now? You will never run out of books, and will be forever surrounded by them, lucky girl.
9. Who is your greatest influence? My mum. She will forever inspire me and be my greatest cheerleader.
10. What/who made you start reviewing and writing? My love for children’s literature and my career in public libraries. I am constantly reminded of the joy that books bring to many .
11. What is your favourite word and why? Sunshine. I am a sun loving Gold Coast girl. I love an early beach walk as the sun is coming up.
12. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be? Very hard questions! I do adore Ann Patchett’s essays. Her book, These Precious Days, is a comfort read for me, which I will forever love and never get tired of rereading.
