Thoughts for Thursday: Coffee Talk

If we were sitting down having coffee together this morning, there would be a lot we'd talk about. A few things:

\\ I'm really, really excited to have a low-key July. We really don't have anything planned on weekends this month, save for a birthday party for Walker's best friend one Saturday. And all of this low-key stuff is A-okay with me. June seemed to fly by and was really very full, so I'm looking forward to no set plans this month.

\\ I cannot tell you how many times Knox gets called a girl. I mean, yes, he's a pretty little boy and I refuse to cut his wavy hair...but I don't dress him like a girl. I had him in navy blue shorts, a bluish top and sandals the other day and two separate people told me, "Oh, she's so cute!" *Eye roll* Trust me, if I had a little girl, you would know...and a giant bow on her head would give it away!

\\ Walker starts summer camp on Wednesday at his school, and he's so excited...and let's admit it: so am I! He'll go once a week for five hours a day and I know he's going to have a ball.

\\ I need a pedicure like nobody's business. My poor heels are cracking and it actually hurts! Maybe I'll add that to my weekend to-do list. ;)

\\ I am such a history nerd. I'm watching "Secrets of the Tower of London" on our local PBS station as I'm writing this post. I mean, yep.

\\ But yet I also watch "House of Cards," "Orange is the New Black," "The Bachelorette" and "The Real Housewives." Clearly my taste is all over the place.

\\ I got rid of so much itty bitty baby stuff last week and it felt great and like we have so much more room in our house: bibs, burp cloths, too-small sleep sacks, swaddle blankets and itty bitty socks. It was a bit sad packing it all up, and I definitely got a little emotional, but it's kind of exciting to think about all the fun we'll have ahead with two rambunctious boys.

\\ One of my Facebook friends posted this recently and I couldn't yell "YES AND AMEN" loud enough as I was reading it, so I'll leave y'all with this today:

"I can't help but look through my feed and notice that it seems like every stay-at-home mom has a side gig these days. I feel like it needs needs to be said that being a stay-at-home mom is ENOUGH. You don't have to have a side gig, blog, or home business to be a 'successful' mom these days. As someone who does run an at-home business I was honestly bothered by this, so I can imagine what someone who doesn't run a home business feels. We're enough moms. You're enough, you don't have to ALSO do a million other things. We can just BE."
