Father's Day Weekending

Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend celebrating the dads in their lives. We had a fun weekend celebrating Brandon with lots of yummy food; I'm back on the eating well train this week.

-FRIDAY-
The boys and I just hung around the house on Friday morning before Brandon got home from his Summer Friday at 11:30. It's so nice to have lazy mornings sometimes!

We headed out to lunch at Mi Cocina, then popped in Williams-Sonoma before heading home, where the boys promptly posted themselves on the couch with some popcorn and watched a World Cup game.

After naps, Brandon took Walker out to play golf for the first time. It was so precious! They got in nine holes while Knox and I made a Target run.

Friday night once the boys were in bed, Brandon and I couldn't decide what we wanted to eat for supper, so we made a very non-fancy charcuterie plate: fresh-cut watermelon, Wheat Thins, pimento cheese and summer sausage -- and of course, a glass of wine. We picked on that while we watched "A Bad Moms Christmas" and then went to bed.

-SATURDAY-
Since Sundays are often crazy in our house, we celebrated Father's Day a day early! Walker helped me get breakfast ready: Kodiak Cakes Protein Packed blueberry lemon muffins, cheesy scrambled eggs, watermelon, coffee and mimosas! We served it to Brandon in bed and he watched a few minutes of a World Cup game. (AKA: basically his perfect day, ha!)

We then opened presents; he got a new pair of sunglasses after losing his to the Gulf of Mexico on our beach trip, these grill prep trays, and a hilarious coffee mug {sold out, but similar here}

We then spent the rest of the morning/afternoon in the pool!

After we all napped, we took my father-in-law his Father's Day gift, and then came back home and I made a yummy meal for Father's Day! I made The Pioneer Woman's Comfort Meatballs and homemade mashed potatoes, along with my grandmother's famous cherry cream pie recipe. We were super cool and watched a special on Tonya Harding and called it an early night.

-SUNDAY-
We were up and at 'em and headed to church. The boys all looked so precious, so of course I had to snap a couple of pictures.

The rest of the afternoon was spent doing super un-fun things: laundry, picking up the house, cleaning a bit, getting our cars cleaned out (how do they become such a mess so quickly!?) and getting things ready for the week. And, I even got to sneak in a nap while Brandon worked out. Happy Father's Day, right?! ;)

And speaking of this week, the boys both have swimming lessons Monday-Thursday, so I'm excited to see how much they're going to learn! I hope y'all have wonderful weeks!
