Right from when Sketch was born, there was something different about him, both in looks and actions.
In his home town, which is neat and picture perfect, and everything and everyone have their place, Sketch just doesn’t seem to fit in.
Sketch is happy and curious, creative and unique.
At school, though, he stands out with his unusual style and imagination. It gets him into trouble and makes him feel alone. He doesn’t really understand why.
There's one subject at school, though, where Sketch’s abilities are appreciated and that's art. His art teacher encourages him to do what he loves. His parents encourage him to be himself, and eventually he finds friends who are more like him. They create a community together where everyone can be comfortable and be themselves.
Clever use of colour, line, and white space, along with an important message, make Sketch quite special. A book for anyone who has ever felt different.
