Congrats Loyal Heights Pink Porcupines winning Sea Pub Library Global Reading Challenge! Pizza Party deserved!Scholarships are awarded to graduating Project M.I.S.T.E.R.™ students, as well as other students attending various high school campuses in the greater Seattle area. These students have all made significant progress toward achieving their full potential. It is these tenacious young men whom The Breakfast Group recognizes, empowers, and encourages to continue on the path they have chosen.Various awards, scholarships, gifts, and other forms of recognition are presented to all nominees selected. Each of the 16 high schools in the Seattle School District has a plaque prominently displayed bearing the names of the students selected from their respective school. The most important aspect of this program is to encourage college enrollment by offering tuition scholarships and book stipends. During the current school year we are supporting twelve students with $1000 scholarships, nine students with $500 scholarships, and numerous additional students with book stipends of up to $250 per student.
Congrats to all the Naramore art winners. Top drawing award went to Zoe Russel at Garfield - it's a great piece. For Photography, it was Laila Smith from Ballard High. I also see a First Place for Middle School for Kai Spratt, an 8th grader at Salmon Bay for mixed media. I see other winners came from Hazel Wolf, Denny, The Center School, West Seattle, Ingraham, Hale, Ballard, and Roosevelt.
