is it just me or is easter a little early this year? feels like we were just celebrating valentines day! time is flying by.anyway, here are this year's bunny related programs & updates. First up, Toddler Time:
Mystery Box: Today we found a BUNNY in our polkadot box! What does a bunny eat? Carrots!
Puppet Song: I'm a Little Bunny
I’m a little bunny with a fluffy tail
See me hopping down the trail!
When I see a carrot
My ears they shake!
Then of course a bite I take!
CRUNCH!
(tune: I’m little teapot)
I would stick the carrot toward Bunny's mouth at the end like he was eating it!
I’m glad we are reading about bunnies today because I found this awesome bunny hat this morning!
Would you like a bunny to hold? i bought these colorful felt bunnies @target! great purchase!!!

Some of the kids wanted to keep the bunnies but i really wanted them back for next year!

These are two of the best bunny books I've ever used with Toddlers! Will re-use next year!

Wearing this bunny hat makes me want to eat a carrot!

Repeat with each bunny. I actually made my own felt bunnies for a change! I cut their tails from a sheet of sparkly white foam.
I hid flowers & butterflies behind the bunnies just to make it interesting & at the end I asked, "How many carrots did we find? How many flowers? How many butterflies?"
Craft: Rocking Rabbits
I was sooooo tempted to repeat last year’s super cute Popup Bunny craft but I could not find green cups. Also, I don’t like to do too many repeats because I do have some long time attendees & I don’t want them to be bored. But what could be as cute as that bunny rabbit popping out of a cup???
Luckily, I decided to use this adorable rabbit template from childcareland.com. I bought lunch sized green paper plates to fold in half and we glued our bunnies on so they could rock back & forth. I also found these colorful easter/spring foamies to stick on. shockingly, I think I like this year’s craft even better than last years!!
This is always a crazy day for me. No school or work for many people on Good Friday so we get lots of older siblings and some families who aren't able to attend on a regular basis so it can be crazy/wild. We had two larger sized groups, not too bad but i was bracing myself for the worst. i tried a new recorded song by Ralph's World & it wasn't really a hit with the kids. sigh!
on the positive side, i LOVED my flannel board & craft! also my opening songs with the bunny puppet & props were great. also, i am slowly realizing that wearing a silly hat on my head is extremely helpful! a pretty good day all things considered (:
