Waco Weekending

We had a great weekend this weekend, and it definitely didn't hurt that our temperatures were in the 80's on Friday and Saturday and in the 70's on Sunday! If this is February, I'll totally take it.

Here's what we were up to the last couple of days:

FRIDAY:

+ We met some friends at a local park in the morning, then had an extremely low-key afternoon around the house.

+ I popped open one of my favorite rosés and we enjoyed a glass of that, along with some leftovers, for dinner.

+ Once the boys were in bed, we watched "Sully" {which was so good but gave me major anxiety!}.

SATURDAY:

+ We were up and at 'em so we could hit the road for Waco! We only live a mere 110 miles from there, so it's an easy drive with the boys. Brandon and I met at Baylor University, and so it's always fun to go back to our old stomping grounds; it's such a special place to us.

+ Our first stop was, of course, Magnolia Market at the Silos! Being a Saturday, it was absolutely nuts {I actually walked in and turned around and walked right back out of the actual store}. So, we just let Walker run around on the lawn, gave Knox his bottle in one of the porch swings and enjoyed seeing it all.

+ Then, we went to see the bears in Baylor's Bear Habitat {yes, they have actual black bears on campus in a gorgeous enclosure}, but unfortunately it was closed for construction. We told Walker they were sleeping. ;) We then walked right across the street to the Baylor Bookstore and picked up some more Baylor gear.

+ Then, we met my brother, Parker, and his girlfriend, Emma, at Vitek's for the famous Gut Pak -- a delicious bowl of Fritos, shredded cheddar cheese, sausage, brisket, beans, pickles, onions, jalapeños and BBQ sauce with a slice of white bread. Sounds gross, but it. is. delicious!

My other brother, Royden, has graduated from Baylor, but his girlfriend, Kaitlyn, stopped by Vitek's to say hello to us as we were leaving town.

+ We shopped for a few more things at Barefoot before stopping by Common Grounds for a cup of coffee for the road.

Our boys did fabulously in the car {we were so shocked and pleased!} and we're definitely going to make it a point to get down to Waco more often. Knox slept for maybe 45 minutes total in the car {he usually takes two two-hour naps a day} and he was just still so sweet, smiley and laughing at Walker. It was such a fun day!

+ We came home and unpacked, got the boys down for a little nap and I made this for dinner before we called it an early night.

SUNDAY:

+ CLEAN ALL THE THINGS day. No joke, I washed duvet covers, throw blankets and did about five loads of laundry just getting everything "spring cleaned" since the weather has felt so spring-ish lately.

+ We made a Target and Home Depot run, then Walker decided to jump outside on his trampoline while donning his astronaut costume. As one does. ;)

+ I made some pureés for Knox {read my post on that here}, relaxed with a cup of coffee in the afternoon, and made this for dinner. Perfect Sunday in my book!

I hope y'all had wonderful weekends! :)
